Our Merlot is sourced from the ‘Terry’ block of the Parker Coonawarra Estate ‘Abbey’ vineyard. This small 1.5 hectare sub-section was planted in 1985 and continues to produce fruit with intensity of flavour and strong regional character.
Terra Rossa Merlot is made in limited quantities, and only in those vintages deemed to be outstanding. The terra rossa over limestone soil base of our ‘Abbey’ vineyard consistently produces low yielding vines which result in fruit with piercing flavours and considerable depth.

93 POINTS - HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION
A high-flying merlot, enrobed in a cloak of dark plum, liquorice & verdant herb, smudged with bitter chocolate & coffee grind oak tannins. They are not obtuse, though, melding with the fruit in a hedonistic pledge to merlots plushness. Serious merlot here.
91 POINTS - JEREMY OLIVER
Long and gravelly; dark cherries, plums and cedar/chocolate oak with earthy, faintly mineral undertones and a hint of currant.
90 POINTS - TONI PATERSON MW
Fleshy, dark fruit with brightness and clarity. The palate is energetic and warming. Flavoursome and rounded with good length.
91 POINTS – GOURMET TRAVELLER WINE
A good bouquet here. Red cherry, rose petal, touch of bergamot, some earthiness, some anise and a whiff of black olive. Medium weight & slick, with cool acidity & understated dark berry fruits. Offers touches of spice, new leather & a wed of tannins. Good length is a hallmark here, & the wine ticks many boxes.

Although quite traditional in style, the colours of the Parker Terra Rossa range labels capture the eye well. Good drinking Merlot this too to lure your taste buds.
Fistfuls of dark fruit provide plenty of generosity. Aromas of green and dried herbs skip from the glass along with cassis and blackcurrant. Oak plays its part without stealing the show. Drying and puckering in the mouth, there's a 'come back for more' itch to it. So I do, only to see a nutty and dried olive character. A wine that's more savoury than fruit - that's for sure. A pleaser nonetheless. Tick.
Drink now to eight years.
DAN TRAUCKI - WINE ASSIST
Lovely bright colour, red berries & strawberries on the bouquet, with oodles of delicious, rich Merlot flavours on the palate, just needs 1-2 years or decanting to fully open up and reveal its true deliciousness. BEAUTIFUL!!!

92 POINTS - HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION 2018
A solidly built wine that teases with its aroma of berried fruits on the cassis spectrum, potter's clay and roasted tomatoes topped with Mediterranean herbs. Fresh fruited on the palate, structured but not over-wrought with sweet ripe tannins. Ready now.
95 POINTS - TONY KEYS
This is one of those merlot’s that make me think there is more to the grape then I like to admit, no great standout aromas on the nose but clean and inviting. It’s a different story across the palate the top notes are a mix of soft black fruits whilst underneath there is power with the tannin and acid well integrated leading to a fine finish, the return is very impressive bringing the whole to a satisfying end. 95 points and worth $34

Campbell doesn’t ‘do Merlot’, so the Maestro of Merlot (that’s me by the way) ably steps into the breach.
It’s pretty good Merlot. Smells of black olives and twigs, hazelnut chocolate, mint, red and black fruit, though it falls more to savoury, than fruity. Medium bodied, coffee and hazelnut, smooth grainy tannin, a slight twang to the acidity, and pretty decent length. It’s an attractive wine for sure
90 POINTS - HUON HOOKE
Deep red colour with a tinge of purple, the bouquet blackberry, blackcurrant, violet and crushed leaf. Very attractive aromas. The palate is taut and firm and sinewy, only medium-bodied and a touch lean. It's not a big wine and it oddly lacks a little in softness and seductiveness. Still, a good merlot.
92 POINTS - TONI PATERSON
Such a glorious aroma. Lilting plums and violets. The palate is concentrated yet poised and medium-bodied in nature. The oak is reserved and the acidity is well-integrated. Elegant and silky. Lovely now but will continue to develop complexity with time in bottle.
