2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
The marriage between Coonawarra soils and the noble Cabernet Sauvignon grape have long been known to produce wines of outstanding quality and longevity.
Our Cabernet has benefited from the terra rossa over limestone soils of our ‘Abbey’ estate vineyard located in southern Coonawarra. The unique micro climate within this part of the region produces an extended ripening period which tightens the tannin structure and increases the fruit density.

100 BEST AUSTRALIAN WINES 18/19 - MATTHEW JUKES
96 POINTS - HALLIDAY WINE COMPANION
This is a welcome return to form; a beacon of light for a region that has fallen under the bushel of those on western shores. The tannin management here, recently lacking in Coonawarra, is exemplary of a pure varietal clarity with cassis, bay leaf, cedar, olive & bouquet garni, strewn about a crucible of well-appointed oak. Nothing is excessive. This is mid-weighted of composure. Assured.
93 POINTS - QWINE
This grew into a neat groove over a couple of days of tasting. A beautiful expression of Coonawarra Cabernet. Sourced from nine blocks, the fruit was picked two weeks earlier than the 2015 vintage due to a warmer than usual spring. 14 months in a combination of new and second use French oak. Dark fruit and berries drag their feet through some earth. Flashes of black olive and herbs plus the expected mint. Cinnamon spice clutches to a long and moreish finish. Hard to not keep going back really. Great drinking. I could even be coerced into giving an extra point. Drinking well now but will reward cellaring for a decade+.
DAN TRAUCKI - WINE ASSIST
Plum and oak aromas with a hint of green spices and white pepper on the bouquet, medium bodied, flavoursome with a lovely lingering finish. PRETTY DARN GOOD!!!
