Fruit for this wine comes entirely from Tim Kidman’s vineyard; specifically blocks 1 and 2. These blocks have been identified as being of particularly exceptional quality, which drove our winemaking team to craft a wine that showcased their outstanding character. These established vines are 50+ years old, and rest in classic terra rossa over limestone soils. They are naturally low yielding (approximately 5T/ha), producing beautifully concentrated fruit that thrives from minimal, but clever viticulture.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
A beautifully rich, dark red with violet hues. On the nose, this wine is elegant, lifted and pretty with notes of blackberry, mulberry, black tea and baking spice. On the palate, it is long, balanced and complex with fine tannin and a vibrant yet powerful finish. This elegant, medium-bodied wine will age beautifully with careful cellaring.

Winemaker Notes
After being hand harvested on the 22nd of March, 2019 fruit was fermented in 10 tonne open static fermenters for 13 days before undergoing extended skin contact for a further 14 days. Extended maceration assists with achieving optimal ageing potential and colour extraction. Malolactic fermentation was conducted in stainless steel before being barrelled down to older Ermitage Tronçais saury Premium French oak hogsheads (20% new) for 16 months maturation.
