Parker Estate 2022 SBW #8 Kongorong Fumé Blanc 'King Kong'

Each vintage we have the privilege of working with an incredible array of fruit from several premier regions across South Australia. While the majority of these parcels make their way into our core range of wines, there are a few special barrels that we keep separate, allowing us to experiment with various varietal, vineyard and regional combinations. 

S.B.W. #8 – King Kong – is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the ancient volcanic soils of Kongorong, 26km south-west of Mt Gambier. Inspired by the classic Sancerre style of the Loire Valley in France, this white is fermented in open fermenters, like a red wine but without the skins. Oxidative treatment, natural malolactic fermentation and maturation in French oak for 7 months on lees has created a magnificent beast of awesome power and great humility. 

A wine for the intrepid vinous explorer from a place of wonder and mystery, one to put you in an Empire State of mind!
